The Piano Edition.
The latest instalment of the Decca Sound series brings eight decades of pianism together.Â
The Piano Edition celebrates the greatest piano recordings from the Decca catalogue, each album presented in their original sleeve. From Bach and Scarlatti to the 20th century; from the great sovereigns of the piano to the younger generation of artists.

The 55 disc limited edition set includes many previously unpublished recordings on CD for the first time, as well as extensive booklet notes on the artists and the evolution of the recording technology.

The challenge.
Decca Sound wanted a simple yet effective way to advertise the new CD box set. Understanding the power of visual storytelling in capturing attention and conveying emotions, they decided to utilise animation.
The aim of the video advert was to encapsulate the essence of the music, evoke emotional resonance with the audience, and entice listeners to explore the work further by making a purchase.

Our solution.
We decided to keep the animation black and white, with simple text mimicking the iconic piano keys. It was also clear to us from the start that we would let the music do all the talking, with a distinct lack of voiceover making a simple yet effective statement.

We spent a long time integrating the music with the animation. The musical cues were synchronised with the animation, enhancing the emotional impact and creating a harmonious fusion of sight and sound.

The results.
Increased visibility: The animation video garnered thousands of views across YouTube and other social media platforms.
Emotional connection: Viewers were engaged by the emotive storytelling and visuals.
CD sales: The campaign video helped to promote CD sales, inspiring viewers to purchase The Piano Edition after experiencing the animation.
